Pocket Clear's interface is available in 12 languages on both iPhone and Android: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Hindi, German, Filipino, Italian, Russian, Arabic, Japanese and Korean.
This post first went up in April 2026, when version 1.80 shipped the first eight. Since then, version 2.15 added Arabic and Russian, and 2.16 added Japanese and Korean and finished the job on the original seven non-English languages. I've updated the post to describe the app as it is today rather than leave an out-of-date announcement online.
How we got from 8 to 12

How to change the language
- Open Pocket Clear and go to Settings.
- Tap Language.
- Pick a language. The whole interface switches straight away.
New users don't have to look for it. Language is the first step of onboarding, and by default the app follows your phone's language, so most people see Pocket Clear in their own language from the very first screen. Full steps are in the help center: Language.
What the language setting covers

- Emails and notifications: since v2.16 these follow the language you pick in the app, not just your phone's language.
- Home Screen widgets: these follow your phone's language.
- Every plan: all 12 languages are part of the free plan. No language is behind a paywall.
Arabic: right-to-left, done properly
Arabic isn't just translated text. The layout flips to right-to-left, so navigation, lists and forms read the way an Arabic speaker expects. Two choices are worth knowing about:
- Western digits (0–9) are used for amounts and dates. Typing Arabic-Indic digits into an amount is still accepted.
- Charts keep time running left to right, so a trend line reads in the same direction as the dates under it.
If you track in a Gulf currency, there's a related setting. For currencies whose symbol is written in Arabic script (such as the Kuwaiti dinar, Saudi riyal and Qatari riyal), the currency picker also offers an "(English)" row that shows a Latin symbol instead. See Currency.
About the translations
Every non-English translation was drafted with AI and then checked in a separate review pass for meaning, finance terms and plural forms. Finance vocabulary is where machine translation tends to slip. "Money In" and "Money Out" need to stay short and plain, and "Category" shouldn't turn into the word for a music genre.
We're a small team, and I won't claim every sentence reads exactly as a native speaker would write it. If something sounds off in your language, email [email protected] with the screen and the exact phrase, and we'll fix it.
What doesn't change in any language
- No bank linking. Spending is entered by hand, shared into the app, or auto-logged on the phone. It's never pulled from a bank.
- No ads. None, on the free plan or Pro.
- Local-first storage. On the free plan your data stays on your phone and nothing is uploaded. Cloud Sync is an optional Pro feature.
- Works offline. The translations ship inside the app, so the language you picked works on a plane too.
