Pocket Clear ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
Our Privacy Promise
We believe your financial data is deeply personal. That's why Pocket Clear is designed with privacy as a core principle:
- Your data stays on your device by default. We don't require cloud sync.
- We never sell your data. Your transaction history is yours alone.
- We never use your data for AI training. Your spending habits are not our training data.
- All data is encrypted. Both locally and in the cloud (for Pro users).
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address (for authentication)
- Name (optional, for personalization)
Transaction Data (Free Users)
For free users, all transaction data is stored locally on your device only. We never see or have access to:
- Transaction amounts
- Category names
- Notes or descriptions
- Dates of transactions
Transaction Data (Pro Users)
If you subscribe to Pro and enable cloud sync:
- Your transaction data is encrypted on your device before being sent to our servers.
- We store the encrypted data but cannot read it.
- Only you can decrypt your data using your device.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the app
- To send verification codes for authentication
- To sync your encrypted data across devices (Pro users only)
- To respond to support requests
What We Don't Do

Data Security
- Local Encryption: All data on your device is encrypted using AES-256.
- Cloud Encryption: For Pro users, data is encrypted before leaving your device and stored encrypted on our servers.
- Transport Security: All network communication uses TLS 1.3.
- Access Controls: Our team cannot access your transaction data.
Third-Party Services
- Mailgun: For sending verification emails. See Mailgun Privacy Policy.
- Apple App Store: For processing subscriptions. See Apple Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
- Local Data: Stored on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app.
- Cloud Data (Pro): Stored until you delete your account or cancel your subscription.
- Account Data: Retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Export your local data from the app
- Opt out of cloud sync at any time (data remains local)
Children's Privacy
Pocket Clear is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
