Privacy & Security

Your financial data is deeply personal. Pocket Clear is built on the principle that your money information belongs to you and nobody else. We designed our privacy model around four non-negotiable pillars that apply to every user, whether free or Pro.

Unlike many finance apps that monetize through advertising or data partnerships, Pocket Clear's business model is simple: we charge for Pro features. That is our only revenue source. We have no incentive to collect, analyze, or sell your data because we do not make money from it.

These are not just words in a policy document. They are architectural decisions baked into how the app is built. For example, Pocket Clear has no bank-linking feature at all, and on the free plan your financial data never leaves your device — there is nothing in Pocket Clear's cloud to sell, mine or leak.

The four privacy pillars

1. No Ads

Pocket Clear contains zero advertising. No banner ads, no sponsored content, no "recommended products" based on your spending. The app is completely ad-free and always will be.

2. Encrypted Cloud Sync

Data synced to the cloud travels over TLS 1.3 and is stored encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, the same cipher used by banks, governments, and military organizations. Pocket Clear holds the key that protects data at rest, so this is not end-to-end encryption — the honest guarantee is the one above it: no ads, no data selling, no AI training, no bank linking, and nothing uploaded at all unless you turn Cloud Sync on.

3. No AI Training

Your transaction data is never used to train machine learning models, AI systems, or any form of automated analysis. Your spending patterns are yours alone. We do not aggregate, anonymize, or feed user data into any AI pipeline.

4. No Data Selling

We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your data with any third party — not advertisers, not data brokers, not "partners," not anyone. Period.

Devices and sign-in

Each phone gets its own sign-in token when you log in. The token stays valid for 90 days from your last use and renews itself while you keep using the app.

Go to Settings → Account → Devices to see every signed-in phone with the last time it was used. From there you can sign out of other devices at once — useful if you lost a phone or no longer use it.

When you sign out or a device's sign-in expires, the app asks you to sign in again with your email code. Everything on that phone stays there — signing out and expiry touch only the sign-in credential, not the data stored locally on the device.

If you see a device in that list you don't recognize, use "Log out of other devices" and sign back in — that revokes every other phone's sign-in at once.
