Smart Suggestions

Once you've logged around 15 transactions, Pocket Clear starts to notice the spends you repeat — the subscription that's the same amount every month, the EMI, the coffee that always rings up at the same price. Smart Suggestions surfaces those as quick-add chips right above the Add Transaction screen, each showing exactly what you'll add and for how much — so logging a recurring expense can take a single tap instead of a full form.

What it does

When you open Add Transaction, Pocket Clear looks at the time of day — and, the moment you start typing an amount, the amount too — then compares them against your own recent history. If a repeated transaction turns up, a chip appears showing its label and price, like Netflix · $199.00. Tap it and it fills in everything: the category, subcategory, payment type, note, and the amount. From there you can just hit Save.

Because a suggestion is tied to an exact, repeated amount, one category can offer more than one chip — a $199 subscription and a $2 bill under the same category show as two separate chips, each with its own price. This is built for the spends that repeat at a fixed amount but never made it into a scheduled recurring transaction. It's never a reminder or a push notification; it only ever appears while you're already on the Add Transaction screen, and only when your history makes a confident match possible.

How it works

Smart Suggestions ranks your own recent transactions on the fly, on your phone. A chip appears for a spend you've repeated at the same amount, with the same category, payment type and note. By default it leans on the time of day — your morning coffee shows up in the morning. But the moment you type an amount, that becomes the strongest signal: enter $4.99 and your $4.99 coffee surfaces even at an odd hour, and a nearby $4.49 latte can show alongside it, so you can pick the right one and change nothing else. If nothing in your history clears the bar for a confident match, no chip appears — it stays quietly out of the way rather than guessing.

Your privacy

Smart Suggestions run entirely on your device. Pocket Clear looks only at your own past transactions, locally, to guess what you're logging. Nothing is ever sent to any server, to Google/Gemini, or to any AI service.

Turning it off

Go to Settings › Smart Suggestions to turn the feature off at any time. The Add Transaction screen goes back to a blank form, with no chips shown.
