Tags
Tags give you a flexible way to organize transactions beyond categories. While a category describes what you spent on (Food, Transport), a tag describes the context — a specific trip, a group outing, a project, or an event. A single transaction can have multiple tags, and you can filter your transaction list by any tag.
For example, you might tag all expenses during a vacation as "Japan 2026," or tag shared dinner bills as "Roommates." Later, you can filter by that tag to see exactly how much you spent in that context, regardless of which categories were involved.
Tags need to be enabled in Settings before they appear in the transaction form. Once enabled, a tag picker shows up when you add or edit a transaction. You can create new tags on the fly or choose from existing ones. Deleting a tag removes it from the tag list but never deletes any transactions — those transactions simply lose that tag label.
How to use tags
- Go to Settings > Tags and toggle tags on.
- When adding or editing a transaction, you will now see a Tags field.
- Tap it to select existing tags or type a new tag name to create one.
- You can add multiple tags to a single transaction.
- To filter by tag, use the filter icon on the Home screen and select a tag.
Managing tags
- View and manage all tags in Settings > Tags.
- Tap a tag to rename it — the new name will appear on all transactions that used it.
- Delete a tag by swiping left. This only removes the tag label. Transactions are never deleted.
- Tags are included in CSV exports, so you can analyze tagged spending in a spreadsheet.
