For over a year, one request has kept arriving in our inbox in different words: "I love that my spending stays private. Can I see my investments the same way?" When we added a Wealth early-access tab in v2.00, the registrations confirmed it — people want one private place that answers a simple question: what am I worth today?
With v2.01, the answer starts rolling out. Wealth (Beta) connects your brokerage account read-only and turns the Wealth tab into a live dashboard: your total net worth, how it's allocated between cash and investments, a 30-day trend, and every connected account's balance — refreshed automatically each day.
Why we built it differently
Net-worth apps are usually the least private category in personal finance. The standard playbook is to pull your holdings through an aggregator, copy them onto the company's servers, build a profile of what you own, and keep it — sometimes long after you leave. That's the exact architecture Pocket Clear was created to avoid.
So Wealth follows the same rule as everything else in Pocket Clear: we shouldn't be able to lose what we never keep.
- Your credentials never touch our servers. You log in on the hosted portal of SnapTrade, our brokerage-connection partner. Pocket Clear never sees your brokerage username or password — not even in transit.
- Your holdings are never stored on our servers. Balances and positions are fetched for display; the private access key for your connection lives only on your device. If someone breached our servers tomorrow, there would be no portfolio database to steal.
- The connection is strictly read-only. Pocket Clear cannot place trades, move money, or change anything in your brokerage account. Ever.
- Leaving is one tap. Disconnecting an account also deletes your connection data at SnapTrade, and "Remove all wealth data" wipes everything at once.
The full plain-language explainer lives in our help center: How your Wealth data is protected.
What you see
- Net worth, front and center. One number, totalled across every account you've connected, in your display currency — with a 30-day trend so you can see the direction, not just the snapshot.
- Allocation at a glance. A single bar shows how your wealth splits across cash and investments in each account type, with exact amounts and percentages.
- Every account, expandable. Each connected brokerage account shows its current value and expands to reveal what's inside.
- Always current. Balances are fetched live every time you open the Wealth tab — no manual updating, no spreadsheet, and nothing cached on our servers.
What this doesn't change
Pocket Clear's expense tracking is exactly what it was yesterday: manual entry by design, fully offline, no ads, no data selling, and no bank linking. Wealth is a separate, optional feature — a read-only window into accounts you choose to connect. If that's not for you, don't connect anything and nothing about your app changes.
And to be explicit about the boundaries: Wealth is informational only. Pocket Clear is not a broker-dealer or investment adviser, balances come from your brokerage and can be delayed, and your brokerage's records are always authoritative.
How to get access
Wealth is an invite-only beta, rolling out in gradual waves — starting with US brokerage accounts, with more regions to follow. It's free during the beta.
- Update to Pocket Clear v2.01 on iOS or Android.
- Open the Wealth tab.
- Register for early access if you haven't already — we're inviting registrants in order, in waves.
If you registered from v2.00: thank you for the patience. You're at the front of the line.
One private place for your money
Track spending manually. See your net worth automatically. Neither one ever sold, profiled, or stored where it doesn't need to be.
