Pocket Clear ships updates every few weeks. The latest version is v2.16 (October 2026), available on iOS 17+ and Android 8+. This page is the official, dated changelog for the privacy-first expense tracker — all notable releases since launch, newest first.

Smarter UPI and bank-message capture — Uber, Ola, Rapido and auto rides, food and groceries are filed by keyword even when every ride pays a new UPI ID. Capture remembers the category and subcategory you use for each UPI ID, and a daily commute paid to a different UPI ID each morning is filed like the similar payment you made around the same time on your last workday. Your Power score bracket (Pro) — on Pro, a card under Power Score shows the bracket you're in and the score that gets you into the next one, such as "Reach 72 to join the top 10%". Create a category as you log (free) — a + New chip at the end of the categories on Add and Edit Transaction opens a small sheet for a name and an icon, and the new category is selected without losing what you'd typed. New auto-logging on iPhone — set up a Shortcuts automation once and every Apple Pay tap logs itself, or every debit and card-spend text from your bank. It runs in the background, never asks you anything, skips credits, OTPs and ATM withdrawals, and logs a payment once even when Apple Pay and your bank's text both report it. Every auto-logged expense shows under Recent captures, where you can edit or undo it. No bank linking, and the message is read on your phone. Needs iOS 26 and On-Device AI switched on. New Pro Insights — Weekly Recap is now Insights. Your week stays free, and Pro adds a This month section: categories creeping up, what you'd save by cutting back, repeat charges, budgets heading over, and when your spending bunches up. Every card is a written-down rule run on your phone, not AI, and tapping one shows the transactions behind it. With Pro, the Sunday summary leads with your top insight. How Insights works
New Road to 50 (free) — rewards on the way to your 50th entry: the home-screen widget at 10, a month projection under your balance at 25 ("On pace for … this month"), and at 50, email us for a code for 3 months of Pro. A daily reminder that knows the gap (free) — now on by default at 9 PM, and it moves to an hour after you usually log. It says how many days you've missed and roughly what they'd add up to, and goes quiet after a week until you're back. The old streak reminder is folded in, so it's one notification a day at most. New catch-up week (free) — when a few days are empty, a card on Home opens the last seven days side by side. Tap a day and add your usual entries with one tap each. The Sunday summary opens it too when your week has gaps. Fill in a week
New tracking goal (free) — tell Pocket Clear what you're tracking for: cutting back on a category, saving, avoiding month-end surprises, or just seeing where it goes. A searchable drop-down for long lists (free) — choose Drop-down under Settings > Appearance > Picker style, and category, subcategory and payment type become one field that opens a searchable list. Chips stay the default. About picker style
Plus improved translations and small fixes throughout — share labels on the Reports category chart, payment-type rows on Reports (Unassigned included) now open their transactions, a "No payment method" filter in All Transactions, and the weekly summary is now on by default, with a switch under Settings > Reminders.

Switching from monthly to yearly Pro works on Android (Pro) — the Settings row to move to the yearly plan didn't go through for monthly subscribers on Android. It does now.
Wealth moved to Settings (Beta) — the Wealth card left Reports and is now a row in Settings.

New On-Device AI (Beta — free for everyone until 31 December 2026, then part of Pro) — share a bank message, a receipt photo or a card email to Pocket Clear, or paste, type, scan or pick a photo in Quick Log, and it becomes a logged expense. It's read on your phone — by Apple Intelligence or Gemini Nano where your phone has it, and by Pocket Clear's own built-in rules everywhere else — and nothing you share is uploaded to us or to any AI company. On iPhone you can also say "Log an expense in Pocket Clear" to Siri, or add it to Control Center. It stays off until you switch it on in the new On-Device AI tab, and when it isn't sure about an amount, a category or a refund, it shows you a card to confirm instead of saving. New Ask (Beta, same as above) — type a question like "how much on food this month?" or "what was my biggest expense this week?" and get the answer worked out from your own transactions, on your phone. Asking about your spending

Sign-in is now per device — Settings > Devices shows where you're signed in, and you can sign the others out. Updating keeps you signed in; there's nothing to do.
Drag to reorder categories (free) — long-press a category and drag it; Money In and Money Out keep their own order, and the Add screen follows it.
Filter by several subcategories at once, and switch the Reports category breakdown between money out and money in.
Power score and Today's tip can each be hidden from Home under Settings > Appearance > Hide on Home.
Plus improved translations and small fixes throughout — the app now waits and retries quietly if Pocket Clear's sync is briefly unreachable instead of showing errors, the partner view switch no longer disappears until you restart, the Kuwaiti Dinar and other Arabic-script currencies can show an English symbol, and on Mac a crash when autocorrect appeared while a sheet was opening is gone.
v2.10 — September 2026
The Pro badge tells the truth after a subscription ends (Android) — once a subscription had lapsed, Settings kept saying "Pro member" while cloud sync, export and Partner Mode quietly stopped working, with nothing on screen to explain why. The badge now clears — but only when Google Play and Pocket Clear's records both agree the subscription is over. An active subscription, a Lifetime plan, or Pro bought on an iPhone with the same account is never touched, and if the app can't get an answer (offline, Play not responding) it changes nothing.
Reports > Budgets no longer opens on a blank gap (Android) — the tab started with an empty band above the first budget card.
Fewer check-in emails for people who never close the app (free) — Pocket Clear only counted you as active when it was launched from scratch, so if you kept it open for days you could get a "we miss you" email while using it every morning. It now notices when you come back to it, at most once a day.
Plus improved translations and small fixes throughout — and both stores now show a fresh set of screenshots that match the app as it is today.
v2.09 — September 2026
New Trips (Pro) — give a trip a name, a start and end date and a budget, and while it's running the app shows the trip instead of the month: what you've spent, what's left, and how much a day you have for the days remaining. Everything you log during the trip is tagged to it automatically, and you can change or remove that tag when you add or edit the transaction. The month is always one tap away, and a single line keeps rent and subscriptions visible so nothing at home disappears while you're away. The trip ends itself on its end date and moves into Past Trips, where it stays. How Trips work
New shared expenses (Pro) — a separate place for costs you split with other people, kept out of your own budget. Add the people you're splitting with by name; they don't need Pocket Clear themselves, so setting up doesn't wait for the slowest person in the group. Log who paid, split equally or by exact amounts or by shares, and see who owes whom — and if the parts don't add up, you're told the difference before it saves. Expenses are recorded in the currency you actually paid in and never silently converted, and balances keep currencies apart rather than blending them into one number that drifts as rates move. Settle Up works out the shortest set of payments that clears everyone. At the end, your share of each expense — not the whole bill — can go into your own spending, so a trip you split four ways doesn't land in your budget as if you paid for all of it. New receipt photos (Pro, with cloud sync on) — attach a photo to any transaction. It saves to your phone straight away and uploads in the background, so you can snap a receipt at the till with no signal and carry on. How receipts work
95 icons, and a search box to find them (free) — the icon list has roughly doubled and is now grouped, with search across names and keywords, so typing "coffee" finds the cup and "petrol" finds the fuel pump. It also fixes something quieter: 19 icons used to arrive on the other platform as a generic symbol or nothing at all, so a category your partner picked on Android now looks right on your iPhone, and the other way round.
Type amounts in your second currency (Pro) — with a secondary currency set, a small switch under the amount lets you enter a single expense in that currency; it converts and stores in your home currency as before, so nothing downstream changes. Rates are now kept on your phone for 48 hours, which fixes a real bug: with Travel Mode on and no signal, a foreign amount could previously be saved as if it were a home-currency one. If there's no recent rate the app says so instead of guessing.
New Pocket Clear on the web (Pro, with cloud sync on) — sign in at web.pocketclear.app to review your transactions in a spreadsheet-style table, filter and sort them, and email yourself a CSV or PDF. It's read-only for now: you can look, filter and export, but adding and editing stay on the phone. Signing up is still done in the app. Using the web app
A moment when you pass a milestone (free) — at 10, 25, 50 and then every 50 transactions, Pocket Clear marks it, and you can share a card if you feel like it. The card carries the number and nothing else: no amounts, no categories, nothing about what you actually spent.
Switch to yearly Pro from inside the app on iPhone (Pro) — Android has had this since v2.05; monthly subscribers on iPhone had no way to change plan without going through the App Store settings. Now it's a row in Settings. If you're on the original plan from before the price changed, you keep it — the row simply doesn't appear.
Plus a round of fixes — Tell a friend in Settings shares a link that sends people to the right store for their phone (a lot of iPhone users didn't know there was an Android app at all), the home-screen widget no longer shows money set aside into a savings goal as if it were spending, Reports > Budgets keeps showing you where budgets are set once you have one instead of hiding the pointer, the app icon finally has proper dark and tinted versions instead of turning into a grey square, on Android the budget line while adding a transaction no longer shows a home-currency figure with a travel-currency symbol, and you can now follow Pocket Clear on Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn straight from Settings.
v2.08 — August 2026
New Weekly Recap (free) — a new screen showing where your week went: total spent, a category pie, how it compares to last week, and a four-week trend for context — plus two or three plain-language call-outs, like your biggest single expense, your busiest day, or what moved the most since last week. Find it from Reports, or tap the Sunday notification to open straight into it. In Partner Mode a toggle switches the scope between your spending, your partner's, or both, and it starts on yours every time you open it. In your first week there's nothing to compare against yet, so the comparison and the trend are simply left out rather than showing something made up. How Insights works (formerly Weekly Recap)
The weekly summary notification actually works now (free) — it used to arrive twice every Sunday, one sent from your device and one from Pocket Clear's backend, and turning it off in Settings didn't do anything, because the preference never reached the server — disabling all notifications was the only way to stop it. The numbers were wrong too: a notification titled "your weekly summary" reported your all-time transaction count. Now there's one notification, with real figures for the week it covers, and tapping it opens straight into the new Weekly Recap. Turning it off now turns it off.
A partner's budgets show their real category names (Pro) — every one of your partner's budgets used to display as "Overall," so several different limits looked like the same row repeated. They now show the category each budget actually belongs to, even if you've since deleted that category on your own phone. How Budgets work
Budgets left behind by a deleted category can now be removed (Pro) — deleting a category never touched its budget, so the limit stuck around with nowhere to appear, since the budgets list only shows categories that still exist. Settings > Budgets now gathers these into their own section so you can clear them out. Deleting a category still leaves its budget alone by default — that part is deliberate and hasn't changed. A partner's payment type shows on their transactions, and editing no longer erases it (Pro) — v2.05's notes said this was fixed. It wasn't, completely. It is now, on both iOS and Android.
Plus the usual round of fixes — quick-add suggestions no longer show two identical chips when they differ only by payment method, suggestions are now drawn from your own transactions only, the opening balance field now says where that number actually appears (Reports > By Payment Type), and newly added features are flagged in the setup guide so they're easier to find.
v2.06 — August 2026
New Fill in past months for recurring transactions (Pro) — set up an EMI, a rent or a subscription partway through its life and the months before today were simply missing. Open the rule from Settings > Recurring Transactions and tap Fill in past months: Pocket Clear tells you how many transactions it will create and what they add up to before it writes a single one. If some of those months already have a similar transaction, it says how many and lets you skip them or create everything anyway — and Undo is offered the moment it finishes. It posts no notification, and it doesn't change when the rule next fires. How Recurring Transactions work
Savings goals can move real money now (Pro) — pick a payment method when you add a contribution and the amount actually leaves that account instead of only nudging a counter; withdraw and it comes back. Leave the payment method empty and goals behave exactly as they always have, so nothing changes unless you choose it. Either way a contribution is never counted as spending in Reports. Savings goals and their contributions also sync between your devices now, which they never did before. How Savings Goals work
A monthly budget can vary by month (Pro) — if December costs more than February, you no longer have to pick one number that covers both. Turn on per-month amounts and the twelve months start out seeded from the amount you already had, so you only change the ones that actually differ. Budgets show the amount in force for the period you're looking at, and rollover now carries forward the sum of each period's own limit. How Budgets work
New All time scope on Reports > Trends, with two new cards (free) — the year chevrons become a scope menu, so Trends can show one year or your whole history. At All time you get a Balance by payment type card — what's in each method now, rather than what moved during one period — and each payment type can carry an optional opening balance for whatever was already in that account before you started tracking it. A Spending by category card sits at the bottom of Trends at either scope, each row tapping through to the transactions behind it. How Reports work
Tap a category slice to see its share (free) — tapping a slice of the Spending by Category chart shows that category's total and how much of the period's spending it accounts for. On Android the chart responds to a tap at all for the first time. How Reports work
Plus the usual round of fixes — weekly recurring rules fire on their own day instead of the day after, a recurring rule can no longer log the same day twice, All time on Trends really does mean all time with one colour per category, and Balance Carry-over is marked free in the setup guide rather than Pro.
v2.05 — August 2026
New Lock Screen widgets (free, iPhone) — put today's spending under the clock on your Lock Screen, in whichever of three shapes fits: a small circular one, a wider one with the figure on its own line, or an inline one that sits beside the date. Tapping any of them opens Pocket Clear straight on Add Expense, so logging something is a tap rather than a hunt for the app icon. Your iPhone still asks for Face ID first — Apple doesn't allow typing from a locked screen — but it's a good deal quicker than going looking. How widgets work
New Add Expense button (free, iPhone on iOS 18 and later) — add Pocket Clear to Control Center, or use it to replace the torch or camera button in the corner of your Lock Screen, and go straight to Add Expense from anywhere. How to add it
Switching to annual Pro now works on Android (Pro) — if you're on monthly, Settings now has a Pro section with your plan and a way to move to annual, with the price your store actually charges shown before you confirm. Previously there was no way to change plan from inside the app at all. Google credits the unused part of the month you've already paid for.
A partner's payment type now shows on their transactions (Pro) — opening a transaction your partner logged shows the payment method they used instead of an empty field. This also closes a quieter problem underneath it: saving one of their transactions could previously clear the payment type on their copy.
Plus a fix for couples on different phones — a partner's payment method now matches correctly regardless of which platform created it.
v2.04 — August 2026
New Payees (Pro, opt-in) — track who a transaction was with, not just what it was for. Turn it on in Settings > Payees and a Payee field appears on Add/Edit Transaction — tap it and your payees drop down, most-used first, and typing filters the list or creates a new one. Manage Payees lets you rename, merge, or delete a payee — deleting only removes it from the picker, so your existing transactions keep the payee name and still show up in Reports. Top Payees in Reports always shows your own spending, even in combined Partner Mode view, since payees aren't shared between partners. How Payees work
All Transactions search is back — and now on iOS too (free) — search across your whole history by note, category, amount, or payee name, on both iOS and Android.
New semi-monthly view and budget period (free) — if you're paid twice a month rather than fortnightly, you can now set two boundary days (1st and 16th by default) and have Home, Reports and All Transactions follow the same two periods per month. Budgets can use it too, so a limit resets on payday instead of on the 1st. The boundary days are per device and aren't synced. How View Period works
New Appearance settings (free) — you can now give a negative balance on Home its own colour, so a month you are down for no longer looks the same as a good one — both start on mint, so nothing changes until you pick. You can also hide the parts of Home you don't use — the streak badge, the Overall Balance row and the Setup Guide ring. All per device, nothing synced — and Appearance now appears in the Home setup guide, so it's findable rather than buried. How Appearance settings work
Partner budgets and payment types now show up properly (Pro) — budget limits your partner set on their phone now appear in Reports > Budgets as read-only progress bars alongside your own, clearly labelled, and there's a note making explicit what was always true: budget limits track your combined spending, not just yours. New "Spent today" on Home (free) — a running total of what you've spent today, sitting just above your recent transactions, so you can see the day's damage without adding it up yourself. It counts expenses only, hides along with your balance when you tap the eye, and can be switched off under Settings > Appearance. How it works

New Setup Guide (free) — a small completion ring in the top-left of Home shows how many of Pocket Clear's 19 features you've set up, like 6/19. Tap it for the "Set up Pocket Clear" checklist, where every row is a feature with a one-line description and tapping it takes you straight to that feature's setup screen. Completion is worked out from data already on your device — nothing is tracked or sent anywhere — and you can Skip anything you'll never want (with Undo). The daily reminder now skips the days you've already logged (free) — if you've logged a transaction that day, the reminder doesn't fire at all, so it only nudges you on days you actually forgot. Only the current day is ever skipped; future days always stay armed, and if the check can't be made the reminder is sent anyway. Entirely on your device. How the daily reminder works
New annual Pro plan — Pro is now $34.99/year (₹1299) as well as $4.99/month — about 42% cheaper per month in USD, and the app shows the exact saving for your store. The upgrade screen defaults to monthly with annual as a toggle, and the one-month free trial applies to either.
Reports: 20 distinct category colours — the "Spending by Category" chart palette has grown from 8 colours to 20, so two categories no longer end up sharing a colour once you have more than eight. The original eight are unchanged, so nothing you're used to seeing has been recoloured.
Reports → Budgets now opens with a summary (Pro) — above the individual budgets, a progress ring with the percentage of your total budget used, how much is left or over, how many budgets are over versus on track, and — while you're viewing the current period — how much you can still spend per day to stay on budget. Smart Suggestions got sharper (free) — chips now show the exact amount and fill it in when tapped, so a recurring expense is one tap then Save. One category can offer several chips at different amounts, and anything already covered by an active recurring rule is left out. How Smart Suggestions work

New Smart Suggestions (free) — once you've logged around 15 transactions, quick-add chips appear above the Add Transaction screen for the spending you do habitually. Tap one and it fills in the category, subcategory and payment type for you. It ranks your own past entries on your phone — nothing is ever sent to a server or any AI service. New Travel Mode (Pro) — abroad, type amounts in the local currency exactly as they appear on the receipt and Pocket Clear converts and saves them in your home currency, with a live preview as you type. Your home currency never changes, so reports, budgets and past transactions stay exactly as they were. New Budget Rollover (Pro) — carry a category's unused budget into the next period instead of resetting to zero, so a $50 leftover on a $500 Food budget means $550 next month. Overspend carries too.
