Most of what you log isn't new. It's the same handful of spends on repeat — the streaming subscription that's the same amount every month, the loan EMI, the coffee that always rings up at the same price. Typing those out from a blank form, over and over, is exactly the busywork that makes people quit an expense tracker.
Smart Suggestions fixes that. Once you've logged around 15 transactions, Pocket Clear notices the spends you repeat at a fixed amount and offers them as quick-add chips right above the Add Transaction screen — each showing the label and the exact price. Tap one and the entire transaction is filled in.
One tap fills everything — including the amount
Earlier, a suggestion filled your category and payment type but still left you to punch in the number. Now the amount comes along too. A chip that reads Netflix · $199.00 sets the category, subcategory, payment type, note and the exact amount when you tap it — so a recurring expense goes from a dozen taps to one, then Save.
- Keyed to the real thing. A suggestion is tied to a spend you've actually repeated — same category, payment, note and exact amount — so what it fills in is what you'd have typed yourself.
- More than one per category. A $199 subscription and a $2 bill in the same category show as two separate chips, each with its own price. You're never stuck with one guess per category.
- Type an amount to narrow it. Start entering a number and the chips re-rank by how close they are. Enter $4.99 and your $4.99 coffee surfaces — and a $4.49 latte can sit right beside it, so you pick the right one and change nothing else.
- Free, and quiet. It's free for everyone, on by default, and only ever appears while you're already adding a transaction. It's not a reminder or a notification.
Best for the spends that truly repeat
Because a suggestion is anchored to an exact amount, it shines for fixed-amount repeats: subscriptions, memberships, EMIs, rent, the standing order at your regular café. Spending that changes every time — a grocery run that's $43 one week and $51 the next — won't produce a chip, and that's deliberate. A suggestion only appears when Pocket Clear is confident, so the row stays useful instead of noisy.
Nothing leaves your phone
Smart Suggestions run entirely on your device. Pocket Clear looks only at your own past transactions, locally, to work out what you're logging. Nothing is sent to a server, to Google or Gemini, or to any AI service — the same privacy-first promise as the rest of the app. You can switch the feature off any time in Settings → Smart Suggestions.
