After a couple of months of tracking, you have the answers to questions you haven't thought to ask. Which category is quietly growing? What do your repeat charges add up to? Is a budget about to go over, with two weeks still to go?
Pro Insights asks those questions for you, once a month is under way, and shows only the answers worth your attention. It lives on Reports, it replaces Weekly Recap, and it runs on your phone.
Weekly Recap is now Insights
Weekly Recap showed where your week went. That part is still there, still free, and still the first thing you see: this week's total, a category chart, the change against last week, a four-week trend and a few plain call-outs. We renamed the screen Insights because it now has a second section, about your month. That section is Pro.
What your month says
The This month section shows up to five cards, biggest money impact first. Tap a card to see the transactions behind it. Each card is a fixed rule with a threshold you can read:
- Creeping up. A category is at least 20% above your usual by this point in the month. "Usual" is your average for the same days of each of the last three months.
- Ways to cut back. For the two categories creeping up the most, what you'd save by bringing them back to your usual.
- Repeat charges. Your active recurring expenses, plus anything else you buy at the same price in 3 of the last 4 months, like a regular order. Shown when there are at least two, with the monthly total.
- Budget pace. A monthly budget that isn't over yet, but is heading at least 10% over at your current pace. It starts on day 6, when there's enough to go on.
- End of the month. 35% or more of your spending lands in the last 7 days, in at least 2 of the last 3 months.
- Weekends. Over the last 8 weeks, a weekend day costs you at least twice a weekday.
- Top merchant. With Payees on, one payee takes 15% or more of your month so far.
Some cards also have to clear a floor of 5% of a typical month's spending. That keeps Insights quiet about pocket change. A category going from ₹200 to ₹300 is up 50%, and it isn't worth your attention.
Rules, not a chatbot
Insights doesn't use AI. Every card is a rule run on your own numbers, on your phone, and the thresholds are written down in the help centre. There's no model guessing at what you meant and no text that sounds confident about a number it made up. If a card shows up, you can check the rule that made it.
For open questions, like "how much did I spend on Swiggy in August?", there's Ask. Insights is for the things you didn't know to ask about.
Your top insight on Sunday
The weekly summary arrives on Sunday mornings, and it's now on by default. With Pro, it leads with your top insight for the month when there is one, such as "Food & Dining is 34% above your usual by this point in the month (+₹2,100) — see your insights". Tap it to open Insights.
When it starts
After about two months of tracking. Most cards compare this month with your own recent months, so they need a few of those first. Until then the month section says so, and the week section works as before. In a month with nothing unusual, it says that too: "Nothing unusual this month — your spending is on track."
Partner Mode
The week section keeps its Me, Partner and Combined switch. The month section is always about your own spending. When you tap through, you see Money Out with your own transactions only, so a card about your spending never fills up with your partner's.
Every rule and threshold is in the help centre: Insights.
