Insights
Insights lives on Reports and answers two questions: how is this week going, and what is worth a look this month? The week is free. The month is Pro.
This week Free
A snapshot of the current week. There's no date picker and nothing to filter: open it and it always shows the week you're in.
- Total spent — everything you've logged so far this week.
- Category breakdown — a chart of where that total went.
- Change against last week — how this week compares with the one before it.
- Four-week trend — the last four weeks side by side.
- Call-outs — two or three plain-language observations, like your biggest single expense, your busiest day, or the category that moved the most.
In your first week there's nothing to compare against, so the comparison and the trend wait until there's something real to show. Insights totals spending only: transfers and money you set aside into a savings goal are never counted.
This month Pro
Up to five cards, biggest money impact first. Tap a card to see the transactions behind it. Some cards also need to clear a small minimum, 5% of what you spend in a typical month, so they stay quiet about pocket change.
Creeping up
A category is at least 20% above your usual by this point in the month, and the gap is at least 5% of a typical month. "Usual" is your average for the same days in each of the last three months.
Ways to cut back
For the two categories creeping up the most: what you'd save in a month by bringing them back to your usual. It shows only when that saving is at least 5% of a typical month.
Repeat charges
Your active recurring expenses, plus anything else you buy at the same price in 3 of the last 4 months, like a regular order, not only subscriptions. You see this card when there are at least two, with what they add up to each month.
Budget pace
A monthly budget that isn't already over its limit but is on course to finish 10% or more over its limit at your current pace. It starts on day 6 of your month, because the first few days say too little.
End of the month
35% or more of your spending lands in the final 7 days of the month, in at least 2 of the last 3 months.
Weekends
Over the last 8 weeks, a weekend day costs you at least 2× a weekday, with spending on at least 4 of those weekends.
Top merchant
With Payees on: one payee takes 15% or more of your month so far, across at least 3 orders.
When do insights appear?
After about 2 months of tracking.
Is this AI?
No. These are fixed rules run on your own numbers, computed on your phone. For open questions, use Ask.
Partner Mode
If you're linked in Partner Mode, a toggle at the top of the week section switches between Me, Partner, and Combined. It starts on Me each time. The month section is always about your own spending.
The weekly notification
The Sunday weekly summary is on by default since version 2.14. You can turn it off under Settings → Reminders → Weekly Summary. Tapping it opens Insights, or catch-up when two or more days of your week are empty. With Pro, the Sunday summary leads with your top insight for the month when there is one, such as "Food & Dining is 34% above your usual by this point in the month (+₹2,100) — see your insights".
When you tap through from a month card, you land on Money Out showing only your own transactions behind it, even if you're linked with a partner.
