Weekly Summary
The weekly summary is the notification Pocket Clear can send you once a week with a snapshot of your spending. What it opens into is now called Insights — a full screen with your total spent, a category breakdown, the change against last week, a four-week trend, and a couple of plain-language insights. This page covers the notification itself; for what's on the screen it opens, see Insights.
The notification is on by default since version 2.14: new accounts get it when they finish signing up, and existing accounts had it switched on once when they updated. It arrives once, on Sunday morning, carrying that week's real figures — not a placeholder or an estimate. Turn it off and it stops; there's no separate switch left half-on anywhere.
This feature is free for all users and works alongside other notifications like the daily reminder. Tap it and it opens straight into Insights rather than a static summary — so if you want more than the headline number, the rest of the detail is one tap away.
What it says
The summary leads with the first of these that applies to your week:
- Your top Pro insight. With Pro, when there's something worth a look this month, the summary leads with it, for example "Food & Dining is 34% above your usual by this point in the month (+₹2,100) — see your insights". See Insights.
- An empty week. "Nothing logged this week. Open Pocket Clear to catch up."
- Your goal line. If you set a tracking goal, the summary speaks to it. Cutting back: "Food & Dining this week: ₹1,200, down 15% from last week." Saving, in a week you spent less: "You spent ₹900 less than last week. That's ₹900 toward your goal." No surprises: "On pace for ₹41,200 this month."
- This week against last. "You spent ₹8,400 this week — 12% lower than the week before."
- Your biggest category. Otherwise, what you spent this week and which category took the biggest share.
When your week has gaps
If two or more days of the week have nothing logged, tapping the summary opens catch-up instead of Insights, so you can fill in the missing days first. The notification text doesn't change, only where it takes you.
Turning the weekly summary on or off
- Open Pocket Clear and tap Settings (gear icon).
- Scroll to Reminders.
- Check that Weekly Summary is on, or switch it off if you'd rather not get it.
- You'll receive one notification on Sunday morning with that week's figures, and tapping it opens Insights (or catch-up, if your week has gaps).
Good to know
- The notification arrives Sunday morning, once a week — not more.
- On iPhone, the figures are worked out when you open the app. If you haven't opened Pocket Clear since the previous Sunday, the summary says "Your weekly insights are ready. Open Pocket Clear to see them." instead.
- Tapping it opens Insights (or catch-up when two or more days are empty), where the category breakdown, the comparison to last week, the four-week trend, and the insights all live.
- If you're linked in Partner Mode, the notification reflects your own spending — Insights itself has a scope toggle if you want your partner's or your combined view instead.
