Power Score
The Power score is one number, from 0 to 100, for how your money habit is going right now. It sits in a card on your Home screen, in the spot the day-streak badge used to have, with a ring in your tier's colour, your tier name, your current streak and one suggestion for what to do next. Tap the card to see how the number is made up.
It reflects the last 30 days, not your whole history. It goes up as you log, set things up and keep your budgets, and it can go down if you stop. That is deliberate: the score describes where the habit is today, so "get back to where I was" is always within reach.
How it's scored
Four components add up to the score. Each has its own maximum, and the detail screen shows every one as a small bar with what it means and how to raise it.
- Habit — up to 40. How many of the last 30 days you logged at least one transaction on. Log on every one of those days and this is full; miss days and it drops.
- Volume — up to 15. How many transactions you have logged in total. It rises in steps as your history grows, so it rewards showing up over time rather than a busy week.
- Depth — up to 25. How many of the app's features you actually use — custom categories, payment types, a daily reminder, a widget, recurring transactions, tags and so on. It counts the same things the Setup Guide does.
- Discipline — up to 20. The share of your active budgets that are within their limit this period. It compares what you have spent against the budget's own limit for the current period; any amount carried in by Budget Rollover is not counted, so a surplus from last month cannot rescue an overspent budget and a deficit cannot penalise one you kept.
Whole components can be full while others are empty, and that is the point: someone who logs every day but has never set a budget, and someone with five budgets who logs twice a week, now see different numbers and different next steps instead of the same streak.
Tiers
The score puts you in one of four tiers, and the ring on the card takes the tier's colour:
- Starter — 0 to 24
- Tracker — 25 to 49
- Planner — 50 to 74
- Power User — 75 to 100
The detail screen shows the ladder with your current tier filled in and the next threshold labelled, for example "Power User at 75". The first time you reach a new tier you get a short celebration with a card you can share, and a Tell a friend button. Each tier is celebrated once per device, so there are at most three of these ever; dropping a tier and climbing back does not repeat it. The tier you are already on when the card first appears is not celebrated — only a tier you reach after that.
On the free plan
Nothing is scaled or capped for free accounts — the number means the same thing for everyone. Discipline needs budgets, which are a Pro feature, so on the free plan its row is shown with its value and a PRO badge rather than hidden; tapping it opens the upgrade screen. Depth counts both free and Pro features, so a free account can earn part of it. Logging every day, building a history and using the free features gets a free account into Planner; Power User needs at least one Pro practice, such as a budget you keep.
The next step
Under the tier name the card shows exactly one suggestion, chosen in a fixed order: keeping a streak alive today comes first, then setting a budget if you have none, then logging on more days in the last 30, then bringing an over-limit budget back under, then trying a feature you have not used, then reaching the next volume step. Most of them say how many points they are worth. When there is nothing left to raise, it says so.
Where the streak went
Your day streak has not gone anywhere — it is now shown inside the Power score card once it reaches two days, and every day you log still counts toward Habit. The detail screen also keeps your best streak, the longest run you have had on this device. The streak milestones and the transaction-count celebrations are unchanged.
Hiding the card
If you'd rather not see it, turn it off from Settings → Appearance → Hide on Home → Power score. The score keeps being worked out in the background — hiding the card only removes it from view, so it is still there if you turn it back on. A tier celebration will not interrupt you while the card is hidden; it waits until you show the card again.
Private, like everything else
The score is worked out on your phone from the data already on it, every time Home loads. Nothing about it leaves the device: it is not synced, not sent anywhere, and not shared with a partner in Partner Mode — each of you has your own number. Two of its parts do see partner data, though, exactly as the day streak always has: Habit and Volume count every transaction on this phone, including the ones your partner logged that synced to you. Discipline counts only your own budgets, never a partner's.
