Cloud Sync
Cloud Sync securely backs up your transaction data to Pocket Clear's servers and keeps it in sync across all your devices. If you log a transaction on your phone, it appears on your tablet within moments. If you lose your phone or switch to a new one, simply sign in and your data is restored automatically.
All data is encrypted with AES-256 encryption before it leaves your device. This is the same encryption standard used by banks and governments. We cannot read your transaction data on our servers — only your authenticated devices can decrypt it.
Cloud Sync runs automatically in the background. Every time you add, edit, or delete a transaction, the change is queued and synced within seconds when you have an internet connection. If you are offline, changes are stored locally and synced the next time you connect. You never need to manually trigger a sync.
How to enable Cloud Sync
- Open Pocket Clear and tap Settings (gear icon).
- Tap Cloud Sync.
- Toggle Cloud Sync on.
- Sign in with your Pocket Clear account (or create one if you haven't already).
- Your existing local data will be uploaded and encrypted. Future changes sync automatically.
What if I lose my phone?
- Install Pocket Clear on your new device and sign in with the same account.
- All your synced data will be downloaded and decrypted automatically.
- Cloud Sync is also required for Partner Mode — both partners must have it enabled to share data.
